Hint of Whimsy can make recommendations on vendors & style upon request. Cake stands are available on-site to match most themes. Opt for whipped or buttercream frosting rather than fondant so it is smashable! Avoid brown or black frosting.

While we don’t keep many cake smash decorations on hand, we’ve been known to be creative and resourceful in helping our clients coordinate the perfect set up. If you’re unsure where to start, let us know! We’re happy to visit with you about themes matching your little one’s interests, share with you a list of trendy ideas or pitch ideas we’ve been dying to try!

We tend to book up two months in advance. If you’re hoping for a finished gallery by the time your little one’s birthday, we recommend the session take place 3-4 weeks prior.

We know it’s tempting to sneak in a quick family photo, but to help manage the stress and keep the focus on your little one's big milestone, it’s best to plan family photos separately. If you're interested, we’d be happy to chat about adding a family session on another day!
